France - The Vezelay Way between Bourges and Perigueux

The Vezelay Route starts in Le Vézelay, a hilltop city crowned by a the Basilica Saint Madeleine, from the vineyards of Burgundy in central France to the foot of the Pyrenees and the Spanish border to Saint Jean Pied de Port where several other routes converge. 900 km in 43 walking days crossing a wide variety of wooded and cultivated terrain and a rich History.
This leg starting in Bourges covers 20 stages to Perigueux in Perigord at the door of Bordeaux area.
You will follow the waymarked path, cross wooded lands and pastures in Berry area and Limousin and many places of great interest as Gargilesse Dampierre or Benevent L abbaye as well as the beautiful Creuse Valley in Crozant area.
You can decide to add rest days in the largest cities as Limoges, Chateauroux, Perigueux and if you need to start or end anywhere else along the way, just ask for a special quote!
Day 1
BOURGES : Arrive in Bourges To visit: the splendid St Etienne Cathedral and many interesting chapels and churches
Day 2
BOURGES =>ST FLORENT SUR CHER- Stage of 23 km – 5h30 of walking
After leaving Bourges and Villeneuve-sur-Cher (church and fortified bridge over the Cher River) you will reach ST Florent sur Cher (4 km out of the GR)
Day 3
ST FLORENT SUR CHER => ISSOUDUN -
Stage of 23 km, 5h30 of walking.
A small stage to relax between 2 larger stages. St Georges sur Arnon (roman portal) and arrive in Issoudun. To visit: St Cyr and Ste Juliette, Basilique Notre Dame du Sacré-Cœur, the ancient hospital (leprosarium)
