Spain - Camino Primitivo - Oviedo to Lugo
The coastal Camino del Norte turns into the Camino Primitivo once you have reached Oviedo. This route is called Camino Primitivo because it was first walked by Alfonso II in the 9th century.
Oviedo is a major place to visit with the Cathedral and the relics which the pilgrims used to venerate and even if they were walking on the Camino Frances they made the detour from Leon.
