Self-guided hiking tour in Luberon, Provence.

The accommodation changes everyday. You walk from place to place.

We reserve the rooms, the dinners, luggage transfers from hotel to hotel, and provide the road book and the maps. 

At the same time wild and harnessed by man, sometimes mauve, sometimes grey, emerald or blue, the Luberon is a great source of inspiration for all who come close to its landscape. From the golden ochre of the Colorado Provençal to the rugged Regalon Canyon, discover a magical region where its sunlight, colors and scents have been celebrated by numerous artists.

The charming perched villages of Luberon where you can have a drink at a café terrace under the shade of plane trees, the colorful markets typical of Provence, a healthy food full of perfumes and a blue sky nearly all year long.

The Massif of Luberon is closed to hiking in Summer generally from mid June to mid September for safety reasons in case of forest fires.

Day 1

Arrive in Apt
If you arrive early enough you have the possibility to do a walk in the Colorado Provençal. Night in Aptearly enough you have the possibility to do a walk in the Colorado Provençal. Night in Apt.

Day 2

Apt/Buoux - 4 hour walk,+370 m
The perched village of Saignon and the Aiguebrun Valley lead us to the Auberge des Seguins, nestled under the white cliffs of Buoux.

Day 3

Buoux/Recaute gorge -5 ½ hour walk, + 750 m
The path winds along the Cavalier Gorge and the Bon Dieu Gorge. Discover, the village of Lourmarin dominated by its castle where Albert Camus and Henri Bosco are buried. Night in The Mas de Recaute.

Day 4

Recaute Gorge/Merindol -5 ½ hour walk, + 450 m
Today's walk is along the Little Luberon's crest, in the valley of la Tapi to Merindol, a village dominated by its castle in ruins.

Day 5

Merindol/Merindol - 6 hour walk, + 250 m
A circular walk around Merindol walking in the depths of the Regalon Canyon, Mayorques farm and the Arboretum du Font de l'Orme, that contains about 20 species of identified trees, including four species of Mediterranean pine.

Day 6

Merindol/Bonnieux - 5 ½ hour walk, +550 m
Linking the two villages on the Little Luberon's crest, the trail offers magnificent views on the Durance Valley, the Alpilles Mountain and even further to the Camargue. Finish your walk via the man made Foret des Cedres (cedar forest). The forest is made up of cedar trees from the Atlas mountains in Morocco, mixed with pine and green oak. Descend down to one of the most beautiful perched villages of Provence, Bonnieux.

Day 7

Bonnieux-Apt - 3 ½ hour walk
From Bonnieux, the tour finishes back in Apt with a last walk via the Chateau de Buoux and the Claparedes plateau. Your trip ends in Apt.
