Mysterious Corsica : walking from Corte -the Scala di Santa Regina to Piana

Day 1

Corte Arrival in Corte. Night in a 2 star hotel.

Day 2

Scala di Santa Regina
After a short taxi transfer, travel into the heart of the Scala di Santa Regina Gorge. Stunning views are to be seen from the cliffs overlooking the Golo River. You then walk along an old migration path, sculpted in granite rocks. The valley of the Niolu also offers great landscapes. Dinner and night in a 2 star hotel.

Day 3

Waterfalls and mountain huts
Today’s adventure takes you to the heart of the forest of Verghju, Genoese bridges and chestnut mills. The path follows the Golu River through a forest of Laricci pines.
Dinner and night in a mountain hotel.

Altitude gain & loss: +900m, -554m.

Day 4

From Col de Verghio to Ota
After the Col, you will descend through a chestnut forest. This trek takes you through the mountain village of Evisa, the chestnut capital of Corsica. Corsica is famous for its chestnuts, which are used to make local foodstuffs including flour, cake and beer! From Evisa, it is a fantastic walk, descending down into the Spelunca gorge through dense forests of chestnut and holm oak, where you will walk on tracks and bridges constructed by the Genoese, before heading back up to Ota.

Day 5

From Ota to Piana
Following an ancient mule track, this path leads you to the Calanques of Piana, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
En route you will have several exceptional views of the Gulf of Porto. The path then descends to the enchanting village of Piana.>
